This cycle's inspiration is the 1922 film: HAXAN -- a silent film documentary about how witches were treated in medieval times.

It's an interesting film filled with wild imagery for the era it was released, acting simultaneously as social critique on how women are treated, a documentary about medieval witchcraft, and an unsettling pseudo-horror piece.
